New RAM 2500 Power Wagon. 6.4L HEMI V8 engine with 410 HP and a maximum torque of 581 Nm with MDS (Multi-Displacement System) technology, which automatically shuts off the engine cylinders to save fuel in situations where the engine is not at full power. Crew Cab with more space for the crew.
Power Wagon represents the very top in terms of offroad capabilities in the entire RAM lineup and combines them with everyday luxury of the RAM 1500 models and towing power of the 2500 Heavy Duty models. Traditional 6.4L HEMI V8 is paired with the 8 speed ZF 8HP75 automatic transmission in it’s LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) version that strenghtens its interior construction for increased durability in daily heavy use. The “LEVEL 1” equipment then adds a Borg-Warner electronic transfer case with its default 2WD mode and extra 4WD High and 4WD Low modes for optimal terrain adaptability. The 4WD Low mode provides a gear reduction ratio of 2.64:1 for increased low-speec torque of the massive V8. The suspention was also innovated in order to provide better offroad experience and towing power. The Bilstein Monotube shocks come in standard equipment and provide a smooth ride in difficult terrain. Power Wagon’s ground clearance comes up to 36cm which is 2.7cm more than any other truck RAM Heavy Duty pickup. Last but not least there is an advanced electronic locking differential on both axles with the option to lock the rear or both axles independently for even torque spread. Front sway bar disconnect is a must have feature in case of extreme axle articulation.
The massive front grille is dominated by a WARN® front electric winch, which tightens 12,000 pounds of cargo (over 5.4 tons). The bed has slidable tie down points and integrated LED lighting for easier cargo manipulation in low light situations.
Despite Power Wagon’s heavy duty nature its interior does not lack impressive luxury features that are borrowed from it’s sister RAM 1500 lineup. New model introduced a brand new instrument cluster, which is now completely digital. Its functions are more readable and thus the interior is cleaner and modern. It features heated and ventilated seats in the front row covered in perforated leather and are power adjustable with memory including the bed rest. Leather multifunction steering wheel and is equipped with the usual controls like cruise control and many other features. One of the most unique steering wheel features is an option to set a gear limiter that allows for maximum gear setup to keep the vehicle under specific gear when in heavy terrain. Driver’s comfort is enhanced with additional features like power adjustable pedals. Rear passengers have 4 USB ports (both full size and USB-C) in the center console alongside a full size power plug. There is plenty of storage under the rear seats and two lockable boxes in the floor.
New UConnect 5 Nav infotainment system with huge 12″ screen provides control over all the vehicle’s functions though Power Wagon still keeps the most important comfort features as physical buttons like climate control, radio volume and others. UConnect 5 of course supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 360 degree surround view parking camera displays everything around the vehicle on the big 14.4″ screen for maximum precision and supports specific camera zooms and views for the side and rear cameras to make tricky parking and trailer backup maneuvers easy.
