The new GMC Canyon in the top Denali trim is powered by a 2.7L TurboMax engine delivering 310 HP and 583 Nm of torque. This new generation vehicle includes a factory-installed 2″ lift kit and a wider track for enhanced off-road capability. The vehicle’s propulsion is managed by an 8-speed automatic MFC transmission, paired with selectable GMC Drive Modes. These drive modes offer a comprehensive setup of the entire vehicle, automatically configuring the optimal settings for the following systems: transmission, 4WD system (Auto/2H/4H/4L), power steering, automatic rear differential locks, throttle response, traction, stability control, and braking system. The Canyon offers the following modes: Normal, for everyday driving with balanced vehicle settings; Off-Road, suitable for unpaved gravel or grassy paths at low to moderate speeds, adjusting mainly the 4WD, traction, stability, transmission, and brakes; Terrain, designed for challenging terrain, rock crawling, and deep ruts, adjusting all systems, locking the differentials, and reducing throttle and shifting response for maximum torque; and Tow Haul, for towing, which specifically adjusts the stability and traction control systems, as well as the transmission and braking system characteristics.
For the new Denali model, the standard Canyon Pro Safety package includes a complete suite of driving assistants, such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection with emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, among others. The equipment includes a 360-degree camera system composed of 10 cameras placed around the entire vehicle. The large screen allows you to select different views, which are useful not only for parking but also for off-road driving or connecting a trailer.
The Denali trim offers the highest level of comfort and luxury in the interior. Premium perforated Jet Black leather is combined with teak-toned wood accents. The dashboard and door trims are leather-wrapped. The front seats are both heated and ventilated, with the driver’s seat offering 8-way adjustment including lumbar support and memory function, and the passenger seat offering 6-way adjustment. A heated, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel is standard. The driver also has access to a new 11-inch fully digital instrument cluster with very high resolution, offering several detailed modes including Google navigation or a comprehensive Off-road mode. This trim also includes a sizable and configurable 6.3″ head-up display and a wireless charging pad in the center console.
The new generation GMC Infotainment system features a large 11.3” touchscreen with extensive support for Google services and apps, which can be further expanded via Google Play. Full support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also included, along with the popular Amazon Alexa service. The vehicle’s sound system is provided by a premium Bose audio system with 7 speakers. The interior also features an electric sunroof, USB charging ports, auto-dimming mirrors, keyless entry, push-button start, and dual-zone automatic climate control. An interesting feature is a button that opens all four windows at once with a single press. The exterior is highlighted by sophisticated 20″ aluminum wheels with a combination of polished aluminum and dark gray accents, along with 5″ chrome side steps. The truck bed is protected by a durable spray-on liner, and the tailgate includes a practical storage compartment.
