The new GMC Canyon AT4 is powered by a 2.7L TurboMax engine delivering 310 HP and 583 Nm of torque. This new generation vehicle includes a factory-installed 2″ lift kit and a wider track for enhanced off-road capability. The vehicle’s propulsion is managed by an 8-speed automatic MFC transmission, paired with selectable GMC Drive Modes. These drive modes offer a comprehensive setup of the entire vehicle, automatically configuring the optimal settings for the following systems: transmission, Auto/2H/4H/4L four-wheel drive, power steering, rear differential lock, throttle response, traction, stability control, and braking system.
The Canyon offers the following modes: Normal, for everyday driving with balanced vehicle settings; Off-Road, suitable for unpaved gravel or grassy paths at low to moderate speeds, adjusting mainly the 4WD, traction, stability, transmission, and brakes; Terrain, designed for challenging terrain, rock crawling, and deep ruts, adjusting all systems, locking the differentials, and reducing throttle and shifting response for maximum torque; and Tow Haul, for towing, which specifically adjusts the stability and traction control systems, as well as the transmission and braking system characteristics.
The new AT4 trim level includes the Canyon Pro Safety suite of advanced driver assistance features, offering forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning, emergency braking, advanced StabiliTrak control, a rear parking camera, and Hill Descent Control.
The vehicle’s interior provides a high level of comfort. The dashboard and door panels are leather-stitched. The front seats are heated, and the driver’s seat is electrically adjustable in 8 directions, including lumbar support. A leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel comes standard. The driver also benefits from a new 11-inch fully digital instrument cluster with high resolution, offering multiple customizable modes, including Google navigation and a dedicated Off-road mode.
The latest generation of the GMC Infotainment system features a large 11.3-inch touchscreen with expanded support for Google services and apps, which can be further extended via Google Play. Full support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is included, along with the popular Amazon Alexa service. The vehicle’s audio system is powered by 6 speakers. Inside the cabin, you’ll find USB charging ports, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, keyless entry, push-button start, and a dual-zone automatic digital climate control system. A unique feature is the one-touch button that opens all four windows simultaneously. The exterior is highlighted by new front and rear LED lights and optional 20-inch aluminum wheels with a combination of polished aluminum and dark gray accents. The tailgate includes a practical storage compartment.
