Acceleration from 0 to 100 in unbelievable 3.5 seconds, results are comparable with supersports. Comparison is also in place due to a major change in C8’s chasis style. It’s now designed as a mid-engine sports car which dramaticaly changes its weight distribution, handling and the way torque is transferred to the road. The engine disposes Direct Injection (DI), Variable Valve Timing (VVT) as well as Active Fuel Management system for economical driving when it is not needed full engine power. Reworked chassis and coil-over suspensions ensure maximum agility in all conditions. Wide range of drive modes is a given: Tour, Weather, Sport and Track. There are two additional customizable modes. The settings apply changes to: electronic throttle proression, transmission shift map, electronic power steering, StabiliTrak, exhaust sound and others. The optional Z51 Performance packageadds bigger brakes, 13.3″ in the front and 13.8″ on rear axle. Electronic Limited Slip Differential is essential to improve grip on all surfaces. Magnetic Ride Control offers magnetic suspension technology which reads the road surface 1,000 times per second, precisely adjusting dampers for optimum handling even on rough conditions. The front axle has a lift system, it’s possible to heighten its ground clearance by 40mm for safer parking, going over speed bumps etc. In coordination with a GPS system it’s possible to save the places where more clearance is recorded to memory, from which they can be recognized and the lift system is applied automatically.
